Our Projects
Working with rural communities for inclusive, participatory and sustainable development since 1999.
Pragya Gramotthan Seva Sansthan (PGSS) works towards sustainable rural development through community-driven and institution-based interventions. Our programmes focus on livelihoods, women empowerment, agriculture productivity, environment protection, health awareness and child rights.
PGSS aims to strengthen rural communities and promote long-term self-reliance, dignity and human development.
Below are our key programmes currently being implemented across villages and communities.
1. SHG Formation & Bank Linkage Programme
Through this programme, rural women are mobilised into Self Help Groups (SHGs) and trained in savings, credit, financial discipline and livelihood planning. Bank linkages provide access to credit for starting micro-enterprises and enhancing financial inclusion within communities.

2. Farmer’s Club Programme
Farmer’s Clubs provide a structured platform for small and marginal farmers to learn modern agricultural techniques, receive training, participate in exposure visits and understand government schemes. The programme aims to increase productivity and improve farm income.

3. Micro Entrepreneurship Development Programme
This initiative supports rural women and youth through vocational skills training, financial literacy and market linkages. The programme encourages small-scale enterprise development, supplementary household income and economic resilience.

4. Lead Crop Productivity Pilot Project
This pilot involves demonstration plots, improved seeds, soil health management and integrated pest practices with selected model farmers. Successful models are scaled across villages to increase crop productivity and profitability within farming communities.

5. Village Development Programme II
The programme adopts an integrated approach covering livelihoods, education, health, water and sanitation. By strengthening community participation and convergence with government schemes, the programme promotes sustainable and holistic village development.

6. Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) Programme
Small farmers are organised into Farmer Producer Organizations to enable collective procurement, bulk input supply, value addition and better market price realization. The programme enhances bargaining power and builds enterprise capacities among farming communities.

7. National Mission on Agriculture Extension & Technology (ATMA)
Under ATMA, PGSS conducts training camps, farmer field schools, demonstrations and exposure visits to strengthen technology adoption. The programme encourages climate-resilient and technology-enabled agricultural practices for small and marginal farmers.

8. National Environment Awareness Campaign
The campaign promotes environmental protection through school outreach, plantation drives, awareness sessions, rallies and community engagements. The initiative aims to build ecological responsibility and collective action at the grassroots level.

9. Women Empowerment Programme
Women are empowered through leadership training, rights awareness, livelihood support and skills development. The programme encourages women to take part in decision-making processes at household and community levels, strengthening gender equity.

10. Health Awareness Programme
Community-based health camps, hygiene sessions, nutrition counselling and preventive healthcare outreach are conducted to improve health outcomes in rural areas. The programme facilitates linkage with government health services and encourages early health-seeking behaviour.

11. Child Labour Sensitization Programme
Through awareness sessions, parent counselling, community vigilance and school enrollment support, the programme works to reduce child labour and ensure children remain in school. The initiative strengthens child rights and protection systems at the village level.
